By participating in the Norco College Success Network (“the network”), you acknowledge that you have read the following disclaimer and agree to abide by the guidelines specified herein.

The network is intended to serve as an educational information resource regarding the experiences of mentors within various career fields, majors, and universities; it is not to be used to exploit mentors in any way or to solicit any other kinds of information including, but not limited to, requests for job placement, recruitment activities, confidential information, or any other personal or professional information outside of the scope of career and academic experiences.

“Mentees” may consist of students, former students, alumni, or other authorized users of the network.

“Mentors” provide informal advice and guidance based on their personal experiences related to career fields, majors, and/or universities with which they are familiar, and they may or may not be employees of the college. Any opinions expressed by mentors are solely their own and do not necessarily reflect the policies of the Riverside Community College District. Mentors may also be referred to as “Guides”.

District employees acting as mentors participate in the network within the scope of their job description or as defined as institutional service and should do so with manager approval.

Non-employees understand that their involvement as “mentors” is on a volunteer basis, will not result in compensation of any kind, and may be terminated at any time. Non-employee mentors may not request nor accept payment for any advice provided, understand that they are not acting as a representative of the Riverside Community College District, and will express opinions as their own when doing so.

Users understand that all participants of the network do so at their own discretion and information received or provided should be supplemented by additional research and should not be interpreted as a substitute for the use of independent judgment. Norco College does not actively monitor the conversations that take place between mentors and mentees and is not responsible for the exchange or use of the information that takes place.

You hereby agree that in no event will you file suit or otherwise attempt to hold liable for damages, the Riverside Community College District, Norco College, or any user of the Norco College Success Network as a result of your participation in this program. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Riverside Community College District from any and all claims, suits, actions or proceedings of any kind arising out of, or in connection with, any advice or experiences you receive or provide in relation to the Norco College Success Network.
